We aim to keep our costs as reasonable as possible to ensure our club can be available to as many people as possible. If you would like to get to know the club more before joining as a member, we are happy for you to come along to our club night (on a maximum of three occassions) before becoming a member.

Our costs are comprised of a club fee and a subscription to BSAC.

The BSAC subscription pays for:

  • BSAC Scuba subscription – worth £47.88 – to BSAC’s monthly diving magazine, delivered to directly to you.
  • BSAC 3rd Party Insurance – Free Third Party Liability Insurance providing cover for up to £10,000,000
  • BSAC Travel – information, offers and discounts to travel in the UK and abroad.
  • BSAC Training Material Development – The many courses on offer have to be written and kept up to date and technically relevant
  • And many more member benefits including: discount travel insurance, offers in BSAC’s online shop

The club fees pay for:

  • Maintaining the 2 club boats and their trailers.
  • Maintaining and Insuring the club towing vehicle
  • Maintaining the compressor system and all other ancilliary equipment
  • Providing equipment for initial training purposes, both practical and theory
  • Maintaining the premises, maintenance and utility costs etc

All instructors and committee members give their time freely to the club.

Current membership fees are:

  • Annual BSAC membership – £57.50 (for Ocean / Sports / Dive Leaders – Advanced and Instructor grades are discounted)
  • Annual club fees – £125
  • Total = £183.50 per year

We offer direct debit options so costs can be spread over 10 payments should you prefer.

We do not levy additional joining fees on new trainees for membership!

If you are a non-BSAC diver qualified to any level through other training organisations and wish to dive with us but not become part of BSAC you can join our sister club TVSAC. You will then need to pay the annual club fee of £125.

You will need to show evidence of your own third party liability insurance for diving – this can be obtained from Divemaster Insurance for approximately £10.

We welcome members from all training backgrounds, those who might want to cross train, move their training on into Seamanship and Boat Handling, or those who simply want to dive and socialise within an active club.

Its not unusual for recently qualified PADI Open Water or Advanced Open Water divers to approach us looking for a club environment to dive in following either training in the UK or overseas on holiday. All divers trained by other agencies are welcome to join us.
