The International Maritime Archaeology and Shipwreck Society (IMASS) have just annouced the details of the their 2011 Shipwreck conference to be held at the University of Plymouth. Again like the previous year there’s an impressive line up of speakers, covering projects in the UK and abroad, all for the bargain price of £15. Honorary RBSAC member Steve Clarkson is an active member of IMASS, writing articles for, and assisting with, the editing of their Newsletter. The fourth edition of the IMASS Newsletter has just been published: http://www.shipwreckconference.org/dox/November2010newsletter.pdf and it includes an piece on the HMS Venerables project, which Steve is running. As the article reports Steve has already organised two NAS Part 1 courses, resulting in 12 Reading BSAC members gaining the qualification.
