Membership

We welcome members from all training backgrounds, those who might want to cross train, move their training on into Seamanship and Boat Handling, or those who simply want to dive and socialise within an active club.

Its not unusual for recently qualified PADI Open Water or Advanced Open Water divers to approach us looking for a club environment to dive in following either training in the UK or overseas on holiday. All divers trained by other agencies are welcome to join us.

Annual Club fees:

We charge an annual Club membership fee to cover our costs. We offer four different options:

• Full diving member: £137
• Family membership (maximum 2 adults and up to 2 children): £280
• Junior member (only permitted were family adult is a club member): £60
• Social (non diving) member: £30

Club membership can be paid over 12 months via Direct Debit at no additional cost.

The club fees pay for:

• Maintaining the 2 club boats and their trailers.
• Maintaining and insuring the club towing vehicle.
• Maintaining the compressor system and all other ancillary equipment.
• Providing equipment for initial training purposes, both practical and theory.
• Maintaining the clubhouse, maintenance and utility costs etc

We aim to keep our costs as reasonable to ensure our club can be available to as many people as possible. If you would like to get to know the club more before joining as a member, we are happy for you to come along to our club night (on a maximum of three occasions) before becoming a member.

BSAC Membership fees:

In addition to Reading BSAC membership fees divers also must be members of BSAC. This costs £68.50 for an annual membership. Discounted fees are available for instructors, couples and families. Please check here for more details.

The BSAC subscription pays for:

• BSAC Scuba subscription – worth £47.88 – to BSAC’s monthly diving magazine, delivered to directly to you.
• BSAC 3rd Party Insurance – Free Third Party Liability Insurance providing cover for up to £10,000,000
• BSAC Travel – information, offers and discounts to travel in the UK and abroad.
• BSAC Training Material Development – The many courses on offer have to be written and kept up to date and technically relevant
• And many more member benefits including: discount travel insurance, offers in BSAC’s online shop
