On the 4th October we headed up North for the allure of the Farne Islands and the hope of diving with seals. We were diving with Sovereign Divers out of Seahouses for the weekend.
The weather forecasts had been a bit suspect on the lead up to the trip. However, on Saturday we were greeted by bright sunshine. The temperatures were still brisk with the sea being 11 degrees. On Sunday the wind had picked up, but we still managed sheltered dives in the lee of the bigger islands. Over the weekend we dived the Megstone and Big Harcar dive sites.
The cooler temperatures were all forgotten when we were greeted with seals swirling around on our dives. Of an evening, we were also spoilt with a log burner, beautifully views, a delicious homecooked feast (thanks Anne-Marie!) and a wee dram for some in our comfortable accommodation.
