In February 21st to 28th February, 6 of club members went on a pre dive season shake down trip to the slightly warmer waters and temperatures of Lanzarote .
With water temperatures of 18/19°C and visibility of 10- 20m, what’s not to like.
Some of us shared apartments and others at the Costa Volcan Hotel. Self-catering is easy or eating out amongst the local restaurants and bars is even easier.
We dived from Safari Diving at Playa Chica beach, 400m from the apartments. There is plenty of shore diving, either guide led or within your own group. Boat dives are also available, at no extra cost to local sights. The diving is suitable for all grades of Diver, from first few Ocean Diver dives to deeper dives around the harbour wrecks, for the more advanced.
The dive school manager, also Co-owns a dive school at Playa Blanca , and can arrange dives around the Museo Atlantico ( underwater sculpture park) at a small added cost , which includes the minibus ride there and back.

A brilliant way to get back into diving after a winter lay off. Hopefully I will be organising a repeat trip in Feb 2024.
